"TYPICAL DAY"

ALL IN A DAYS' FISHING

The following will provide you with a brief description of a day charter fishing on the “FIN FINDER”.  In addition, we have recommendations to make your trip one you will never forget.

The day or evening before your trip you may want to check and make sure you have the following items ready for the morning: A camera, film, suntan lotion (NO OIL PLEASE), a jacket (for chilly mornings or as a cover up from the sun), sunglasses (Polarized is best), and a hat.  Hopefully it will be a bright sunny day and those items will make for a more comfortable trip.  You may want to consider an over the counter motion sickness remedy if you are prone to the queasy's.  I recommend one just before bed and one just as soon as you get up in the morning.  Keep the drinking in check the night before – it is amazing how much that helps to insure a good day.

“WHITE SOLE” deck shoes or sneakers only, please!  Something that will not leave scuff marks on the deck.  NO BOOTS, WORK SHOES, BLACK SOLE OR HARD SOLE SHOES!  If you have that type of footwear on, you may be asked to remove them before boarding the boat and leave them off until you return to the dock.

We meet at the boat and depart after orientation.  All bait and tackle are provided by the boat as well as ice to keep your catch in top shape during the day.  You should bring a cooler for your own food and drink.  It is OK to feed the Captain and Mate, they both appreciate it.

We usually troll using rigged artificial lures.  Six to eleven rods are normally in use.  However, when a large fish is hooked up, the other lines may be pulled in so that they fish do not get wrapped up in the catch.  There is lots of room in the cockpit and the tackle used varies depending on the species of fish we're looking for and the experience of the anglers.  Our tackle ranges from Ultra-light to 50-pound class.  You may bring your own tackle if you wish, it would not hurt our feelings.  Just make sure we help you set up your tackle.

There is competent fish cleaning service available, which you may want to use.   It certainly  saves time and usually makes for better fillets and steaks as an end result.  You must provide your own coolers for storage of your fillets.  Leave them in the car until we return, no need for them on the boat.

As you will find throughout the day, my Mate will be a most helpful and knowledgeable member of your team.  TIPPING is CUSTOMARY and EXPECTED.  It should be based upon your discretion.  A minimum tip of $100.00 would be greatly appreciated and is well deserved for the long hours of hard work.  The average tip is 20% of the trip price.  If you feel that my Mate is not worth or deserving of a tip, please tell me – I need to know what he did or did not do that you feel he should have done - - Thanks!

Just in case the weather is bad the day of your Charter (the Captain will make the final determination), you may receive a refund of your deposit or re-schedule your trip for another day.

Reservations are required.  A $200.00 per day deposit is necessary to confirm reservations and must be received ten (10) days after the contract is sent or the day becomes available to the general public.  Thirty- (30) days cancellation notice is necessary for deposit returns.  DRUGS ARE NOT TOLERATED!

We are licensed to carry thirty (30) passengers.  We can take up to eighteen- (18) fishing.  The salon is air conditioned and heated for your comfort back from the fishing grounds.  We sincerely hope this information will be helpful to you.  We want the chance of sharing all the attractions of our “Neck of the Bay” with you.

May Your Lines Always Be Tight,
Captain Sonney Forrest
